NORMAN, Okla. -- Members of the University of Oklahoma athletics department staff have been honored with awards from the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) for outstanding work in the areas of publications and writing. Awards were presented at the CoSIDA Annual Convention in Orlando, Fla., earlier this month.

In total, OU received nine national awards in the Publications Contest, tied for second most in the nation, behind only Kansas with 12. In the 2014 Fred Stabley Sr. Writing Contest, three stories written by OU staff earned best in the district awards and were considered for national honors. The writing contest entries had to be produced and published between Jan. 1, 2013, and Dec. 31, 2013, to be nominated.
