Oklahoma Head Coach Sherri Coale:
Coming soon...

Oklahoma Senior Guard Morgan Hook:
On OU’s first-half scoring options:
“They took away our 3-point shots. It was really about getting it to Sharane (Campbell) to penetrate or get it to the post players. They were really establishing their positions so just getting into the paint, our 3 weren’t really open for us.

“It shows our toughness and that we usually look to Aaryn (Ellenberg). If she isn’t getting her shots, then someone else has to step up. And I think we stepped up in every position.

On shooting two free throws left-handed:
“It was just those two free throws. I landed on my wrist and the brace kind of poked in there. When Coach said I could shoot them left handed I was all over it.”

Oklahoma Senior Center Nicole Griffin:
On her double-double performance:
“Rebound-wise I was just kind of reading where the ball was coming from, I had a lot more space to go to the ball. Catching in the first half, I got a lot of my points there.”

Oklahoma Junior Guard Sharane Campbell:
On her performance:
"I just do what I do best. They tell me to drive, so I drive. I get fouled and shoot free throws a lot. I love free throws.”

On if she feels her game has improved:
“I’m in the gym still working (every day). I don’t have to be talked about to feel like I’m working. I know for myself because I’m in the gym by myself. It doesn’t matter about anybody else, as long as my teammates know and my coaches know. As long as I deliver for them, that’s all that matters.

“(The offseason) helped a lot, because I focused on my left hand a lot and I’m still working. But I’ve been doing this like last year. I’d like to say I’m more focused on 3s and jump shots, just trying to move my game out more.”

Wichita State Head Coach Jody Adams

On the game:
“I thought this game was filled with tons of runs. Playing a team like Oklahoma, a team that is picked to win the Big 12 and 11th in the country, you cannot allow them to go on the runs we allowed them to go on. What hurt us were the offensive boards in the first half. I thought we did a nice job guarding the 3 and really containing (Aaryn) Ellenberg. We didn’t knock down free throws when we got to the line. It’s a great game for us to learn a lot about inches. When you play great teams with great benches and have great depth, you can use this game and we will use this game, to help us in the valley.”

On falling back after cutting the second half Oklahoma lead to nine:
“I just thought our starters got tired. Alex Harden got some shots at the rim, and I think we could have closed that lead even more. But it was just missing shots at the rim and I think that had a lot to do with fatigue. I thought we had some athletes that matched (Oklahoma’s) athleticism and matched their skill sets, but we just didn’t have the depth that Oklahoma has.”

On Oklahoma’s offensive success:
“I feel like it was what we were not doing. I know their strengths, obviously they have size and they have depth on their bench. They have someone like Ellenberg that can shoot the ball as quickly as she can. She gets her feet set unbelievably fast. You have to connect to her, and that was our game plan, to stay connected to her, which frustrated her. She had two transition 3s, which were in the second half. We were tired and we didn’t match to her so that’s when she got her two in the second half. So I feel like they are just talented and they have depth, and that’s what helps a team get picked where they are picked in the preseason, and where they are picked in the country.”

On Alie Decker:
“I just think Alie’s tempo and when she gets her feet set and we find her, she’s deadly. This team is a very young team. We lost six seniors last year, and they had a lot of great tempo in playing together. There was a lot of chemistry and continuity, kind of what you see with Oklahoma and what they return in their starting lineup. We don’t have that. These guys that we have played, they aren’t to the point yet where they play of each other yet. That’s the progression of the year and the season and what you use your non-conference for. I think as we go our bench is going to get stronger and our chemistry has to get better.
