NORMAN, Okla. -- No. 4 Oklahoma proved worthy of its preseason hype by setting records en route to a 132-36 exhibition victory over Division II Western State College of Colorado Thursday night.

Seven Sooners reached double figures as Oklahoma dismantled Western State in front of 6,097 fans at the Lloyd Noble Center. Junior forward Nyeshia Stevenson came off the bench to score a collegiate-best and game-leading 20 points as OU set program records for points scored and margin of victory.

OU head coach Sherri Coale praised her team's effort from tip off to the final buzzer.

"I am really proud of our team...I've said repeatedly that our workouts have been very pure, a lot of extra effort," Coale said. "The nice chemistry, nice camaraderie and the air in the gym have been excellent and I think it reflected in the way we played tonight.

"There was great leadership from Amanda Thompson and new guys coming in and playing extremely well gave us quality minutes. They really showed what we have the potential to do."

Courtney Paris recorded her customary double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds, but team co-captain Thompson had the most complete night, totaling 18 points on 8-for-11 field-goal shooting, seven rebounds, six steals, four assists and zero turnovers.

"It felt so good, I was just happy to get out there and play," Thompson said. "We've been practicing for about 17 days now and I was just happy to play against someone else.

"I see a lot of potential (in the team). It's still early in the year and we're getting adjusted with each other. I feel like once we build our chemistry, we have a chance to be really good."

All 12 Sooners who played contributed and all except Jenny Vining, 4-for-9 from 3-point range, made 50 percent or more of their shots.

Preseason Big 12 Freshman of the Year Whitney Hand cracked the starting lineup with the Paris sisters, Danielle Robinson and Thompson. Hand scored 14 points and made six of nine field goal attempts.

"It was crazy," Hand said of her first collegiate start. "I didn't think I would get that nervous, but when the lights went out my heart just kind of stopped. It was awesome, it was fun and it was a good experience."

OU's other freshman, reserve point guard Jasmine Hartman played a team-leading 23 minutes, scored four points and dished six assists to just three turnovers.

The Sooners shot 68 percent from the field compared to 27 percent from Western State and outrebounded the Mountaineers 59-18.  OU scored 55 points off 31 WSC turnovers.

OU led 73-16 after the first half.

Oklahoma plays its final exhibition game at the Lloyd Noble Center, Tuesday, Nov. 11, at 7 p.m. against Oklahoma Christian.
