Oklahoma 82, Alabama 73

• Oklahoma overcame a 26-10 deficit and outscored Alabama 72-47 in the final 31:40 of an 82-73 win to start the season in Dallas, Texas. The game was played at American Airlines Center as part of the Buckets and Boots Classic.

• The Crimson Tide made eight of its first nine field goal attempts while OU got off to a 4-for-11 start from the field. From there, the Sooners outshot Alabama 46.2 percent to 40.4.

• OU didn't grab its first rebound until 13:19 remained in the first half. Still, the Sooners outboarded Alabama 38-37 for the game.

• The Sooners' 82 points were more than all but three Alabama opponents scored last season (one of those games went to three overtimes). The Crimson Tide allowed just 58.4 points per contest last year.

• Sophomore guard Buddy Hield scored a career-high 19 points on 7-for-14 shooting to lead OU's offensive attack. Hield added six rebounds and a team-high three steals. His previous career scoring high was 17 points at UT Arlington in OU's second game last season.

• Sophomore forward Ryan Spangler was sensational in his OU debut, finishing with 15 points (7-for-11 shooting) and a game-high 12 boards (five offensive). The transfer from Gonzaga added two steals.

• Senior forward Cameron Clark contributed 14 points, six rebounds, two assists and a career-high-tying three blocked shots. He recorded 10 points and five boards after halftime. Clark, who went 1-for-1 from 3-point range all of last season, was 2-for-3 from deep today.

• Making his collegiate debut, freshman point guard Jordan Woodard was just 2-for-11 from the field but finished with 10 points with the help of 5-for-6 free throw shooting. He registered a game-high seven assists against just two turnovers in 34 minutes.

• Isaiah Cousins added seven points and four assists in a starting role while Je'lon Hornbeak came off the bench to supply eight points, three boards and two assists.

• OU forced 14 turnovers while committing just nine, and attempted 25 free throws (made 19) to Alabama's 17 (made 12).
