Return to Recap

On what was different about Cameron Clark in the second half:
"Just got a little more aggressive. In the first half we didn't get him the ball that much and he settled for some 3's, which is fine -- he's going to do that well. But his base still needs to be attacking. I think he did that a little bit more. I think the rebounding got him going a little bit. Got a couple big rebounds there that kind of got him going, got him on the attack a little bit more. Cam's going to have a good year. He's going to have a teriffic senior season."

On if coming back from 16 down with a young team was a pleasing aspect of the game:
"Very much so. The sophomore group is kind of the core in terms of minutes on this club, and these two (Buddy Hield and Ryan Spangler), when we were down, were probably the two that took the lead. Talked about energy, talked about sliding their feet. Good to see them do that among themselves on the floor."

On some of the younger players providing leadership as the season moves forward:
"It will be very important. We don't go into ball games thinking 'the sophomore group's younger.' They're just good players who have lofty goals, want to make progress, love being in the gym. They just want to keep getting better. The fact they've got the right attitudes to do that is really pleasing because they are just sophomores."

On OU seeming to handle the stricter defensive rules better than Alabama:
"I think everyone's worked on it pretty hard because the message has been it's going to happen. I thought both teams handled that pretty well. There's going to be some moments in games where they'll be pretty ugly in terms of fouls, but we've worked hard on it. Sometimes them driving the ball at us is a little bit a result of us emphasizing keeping our hands back and not fouling. But yeah, we've got to find that line where we keep our hands back, don't foul and still play aggressively. So I thought we were a little too passive there early when they were attacking us. We've got to keep working on finding that appropriate line."

On what the feeling was when OU was down 16 early:
"I didn't know we were down that much. I looked at the score and was like, 'Wow, we've got to pick it up.' Ryan (Spangler) picked up his energy and stepped up and I had to pick my energy up. Other guys like Jordan (Woodard), Je'lon (Hornbeak) and Isaiah (Cousins), we just kept rolling. We got down by 10 and cut the lead down. That's our confidence. We're young but we've got to keep on learning. We're getting better as we go on."

On if it was good to face some early adversity and have to rally:
"It was good for us. We go on the road in the Big 12 playing in hostile environments, we've got to get used to getting down 10 points and trying to find a way to come back. We have quick guys and want to attack the basket and try to play our way back in the game."

On what it was like to finally get out on the court after sitting out last year:
"It feels great. It was well worth it -- sitting out last year and working on my game. Obviously it's showing right now and hopefully I can continue to keep doing that."

On his love of rebounding:
"Yeah, that's one of the biggest goals for me. That helps the team in the little ways just to win a ball game. Playing defense, rebounding, diving after loose balls -- I think that's what wins the games."

On if it was good to face some early adversity and have to rally:
"We don't want to be like that; we don't want to be down. But I think it's good for our young team. It shows how much we can fight back and stay aggressive."
