NORMAN, Okla. --The No. 11-ranked University of Oklahoma baseball team's five game winning streak was snapped Sunday with a 9-3 loss to Texas Tech in the series finale at L. Dale Mitchell Park.

After Oklahoma (33-11, 10-5 Big 12) won the first two games against Texas Tech (20-24, 6-12), the Sooners found themselves down 1-0 after the first half inning. It was TTU's first lead of the three-game series, and the first time the Red Raiders scored before the eighth inning in Norman.

The Sooners tied the game at 1-1 in the third inning thanks to an errant throw and a wild pitch. Craig Aikin walked and advanced to third on a wild pick-off throw from the pitcher. He came home on the ensuing pitch, which was wild to Anthony Hermelyn.

After the one-run first inning, Oklahoma left-hander Ethan Carnes registered back-to-back no-hit innings in the second and third. The Red Raiders scored two runs on a bases-loaded single to retake the lead in the fourth. They added two more in the fifth on back-to-back, two out, bases loaded walks after Carnes was relieved.

Carnes left with one out and two runners on in the fifth inning. On the afternoon, he allowed five runs, four earned, on six hits. He struck out two and walked one.

Texas Tech starter Dominic Moreno allowed one unearned run on five hits in five innings. He walked four and struck out one.

After the Red Raiders scored three in the seventh, OU right-hander Kindle Ladd came in with one on and no outs. He recorded the final nine outs of the game and gave up only one run in the ninth.

A sac fly in the bottom of the ninth by Max White followed by a single from Hermelyn plated Jack Mayfield and Matt Oberste to add two more runs for the Sooners.

Despite the loss, the Sooners have won eight of the nine series this season that have involved three or more games.

Oklahoma is back in action Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m. in Dallas, Texas as they take on the Dallas Baptist Patriots.
