The Slate

The Sooners play 12 home matches this season beginning with four matches at their annual NIKE Invitational, September 10-13. The home opener will be against CSU Northridge, who like Oklahoma reached the second round of the 2013 NCAA Tournament. Arkansas-Little Rock, Portland State and Lamar round out the field at the invitational.

Big 12 play gets underway at McCasland on September 27 against Kansas. The Sooners wrapped up a third place finish in the conference standings last season with a 3-1 win over the Jayhawks on “Senior Night”. Texas comes to Norman on November 15. A year ago, Oklahoma hosted 2,128 fans, the second largest in program history, for its four-set match with the No. 1 Longhorns.

Home Court Advantage

In 2013, the Sooners posted a 10-2 record at McCasland Field House, in cluding a 7-1 mark in the Big 12, and played in front of a total attendance figure of 11,135. The 928 average attendance was a new program record.

Oklahoma has won 10 matches or more at home in each of the last four seasons with a combined record of 47-13 at McCasland. Since 2006, the Sooners are 84-27 on their home floor and 91-43 since Santiago Restrepo took the helm of the program for the 2004 seasons. Oklahoma played in front of a crowd of more than 1,000 fans in four matches during 2013 with a 3-1 record in those contests.
