IRVING, Texas – Senior middle blocker Sallie McLaurin (Midwest City, Okla.) has been named a unanimous selection to the All-Big 12 Volleyball First Team. Senior outside hitter Keila Rodriguez (Gurabo, Puerto Rico) earned a spot as an All-Big 12 Honorable Mention and redshirt-freshman outside hitter Madison Ward (Lawton, Okla.) landed on the All-Freshman Team.

For McLaurin, it is her third time being selected to the First Team. The 2010 Freshman of the Year and 2011 Defensive Player of the Year, earned the league’s Offensive Player of the Week five times this season. She was also a unanimous selection to the Big 12 Preseason Team. McLaurin has also been awarded Capital One Academic All-District and Academic All-Big 12 this season.

On the court, McLaurin leads Oklahoma with 3.76 kills per set, ranking third in the league, and a league-best .423 hitting percentage. Defensively, she leads the league at 1.34 blocks per set.

Rodriguez has contributed equally on both sides of the ball for the Sooners. She is third on the team with 2.43 kills per set and second in digs at 3.25. Rodriguez’ digs per set average ranks eighth in the Big 12, making her the highest ranked non-defensive specialist.

In her first full season, Ward is hitting .155 with a 1.81 kills per set average. She has added 0.61 blocks and 0.91 digs per set. Ward posted the first double-double of her career with 15 kills and 11 digs in a win over Kansas State on October 12.

Oklahoma returns to action when it takes on Alabama at Stanford in the NCAA First Round 6:30 pm on Thursday, December 5.

Texas’ Haley Eckerman claimed her second straight Big 12 Player of the Year honor, while Iowa State’s Kristen Hahn picked up her third Libero of the Year award. Kansas’ Erin McNorton was named the Setter of the Year and Jayhawk head coach was selected the Coach of the Year for the second straight season. Texas’ Chiaka Ogbogu took home Freshman of the Year honors.
