Sooners Finish Fall Season

NORMAN, Okla.—Three Sooners continued play in the Bulldog Scramble at the Dan Magill Tennis Center in Athens, Ga.

Nick Papac ousted Vanderbilt’s Suresh Eswaran 6-1, 7-5 in his final singles round.

Freshman Alex Ghilea dropped Georgia Tech’s Cole Fiegel 6-3, 6-2.

Both Papac and Ghilea were unbeaten in singles play for the entire tournament.

Despite winning three straight matches, Austin Siegel fell to Georgia Tech’s Nathan Rakitt in the fourth round.

In doubles play, Siegel and Ghilea lost to Vanderbilt’s Jeffery Offerdahl and Anton Kovrigin in the final round.

This was the last fall tournament for the team. The Sooners begin their Spring 2014 season at home against Wichita State, Jan. 21.
