Conference Titles

In addition to 36 national championships, the University of Oklahoma has amassed 279 conference titles. The Sooner football team won the school's first conference crown, a Southwest Conference championship, in 1915. It marked the first season ever in a conference for the sport.
Since 1915, OU has claimed 47 conference titles in football, including 11 Big 12 crowns since 2000.
Track & Field claimed a conference title in 1918 and since that time, men's tennis (36 titles), baseball (26), wrestling (23) men's basketball (20), men's gymnastics (24) and men's golf (16) have all displayed eras of dominance in conference play.
Gymnastics leads the way in women's sports with 15 conference titles. Women's gymnastics gained six consecutive Big 12 titles in 2012-17. Softball has 14 conference titles including the first championship ever awarded by the Big 12 Conference in 1996.
