NORMAN, Okla. -- Earning its sixth top-three finish of the season, the 13th-ranked Oklahoma men's golf team took third place at the two-day, 54-hole Linger Longer Invitational with a three-round 867 (+3). The tournament was played at the par-72, 7,073-yard Great Waters Golf Club at Reynolds Plantation in Greensboro, Ga.

The Sooners carded a 13-over 301 in Sunday's final round against the 15-team field, which featured seven teams ranked in the top 50 of the latest Golfweek/Sagarin poll.

Topping the leaderboard was fifth-ranked Georgia, who shot an 837 (-27). First-ranked Alabama took second with a 17-under 847, while No. 22 Clemson finished fourth with an 870 (+6). Co-host and No. 36 Mercer and No. 39 Liberty tied for fifth place with scores of 874 (+10).

The highest individual finishers for the Sooners were junior Michael Gellerman and sophomore Beau Titsworth, who took a share of 19th place with 1-over 217s. On Sunday, Gellerman carded a 6-over 78 after shooting an eagle on the par-5 No. 2 hole, while Titsworth shot a 76 (+4) for the final 18 holes.

Finishing one stroke behind Gellerman and Titsworth is Charlie Saxon with a three-round 218 (+2). The junior shot a 3-over 75 on Sunday to finish in a tie for 23rd place.

Senior Michael Schoolcraft recorded a 76 (+4), bringing his three-round total to 221 (+5), while freshman Max McGreevy scored a 9-over 225 after shooting a 2-over 74 on Sunday. Schoolcraft tied for 29th, while McGreevy finished with a share of 45th place.

Playing as individuals were senior Eduardo Castiello and freshman Emilio Maurer. Castiello shot a 1-over 73 on Sunday en route to a 227 (+11), good for a tie for 51st place, and Maurer finished in a tie for 66th place with a 232 (+16) after shooting an 84 (+12) for the final 18 holes.

The Sooners return to the course on Monday, April 7, as they travel to Scottsdale, Ariz., to compete in the two-day Wyoming Cowboy Classic.
