NORMAN, Okla. -- The 19th-ranked University of Oklahoma men's golf team remains in second place at the NCAA Eugene Regional with a two-round 567 (+7). The 54-hole tournament is being played at the 6,990-yard, par-70 Eugene Country Club in Eugene, Ore.

Against the 13-team field, OU tallied a 7-over 287 on Friday, finishing the day nine strokes off No. 1 seed and fourth-ranked Stanford. Host and No. 7 seed Oregon holds third place with a 569 (+9), while No. 4 seed South Carolina is in fourth with a 19-over 579. No. 2 seed Houston and No. 4 seed North Florida share fifth place with 23-over 583s.

The top five teams and the low individual not on those teams will advance to the 30-team NCAA Championships, slated for May 23-28 at Prairie Dunes Country Club in Hutchinson, Kan.

"It was another really good day for us as a team," OU head coach Ryan Hybl said. "We played tough, and the golf course was playing even tougher. We need one more strong day tomorrow and to keep fighting."

For the second straight day, junior Michael Gellerman and sophomore Beau Titsworth shot the same score. Their 2-over 72s brought their two-round totals to 141 (+1), good for a tie for seventh place.

With a 2-over 142, Charlie Saxon shares 10th place. The junior carded a 71 (+1) for the second 18 holes, matching his first-round score. During the round, he pocketed two birdies and shot an eagle on the par-5 hole No. 6.

Senior Michael Schoolcraft shot a 5-over 75 on Friday, while freshman Max McGreevy bounced back from a rough first round to tally a 72 (+2). Schoolcraft's 36-hole total of 146 (+6) has him in a tie for 24th place, while McGreevy climbed the leaderboard from 60th to a tie for 37th with a 9-over-par 149.

The final round of the NCAA Eugene Regional is slated for Saturday. The Sooners will be paired with Stanford and Oregon and will tee off from hole No. 1 at 10:45 a.m. CT. Live stats will be available at GolfStat.com.
