  Head Coach Patty Gasso

On this weekend:
"I feel like we are starting to play some really good softball. When we get a lead the way we've been, we came out every game just really bringing it. We're hitting through the lineup, turning it over in the first inning. I feel like we are all on the same page. Everyone is really starting to get their game. I think Keilani [Ricketts] on the mound is getting her game. I think at Texas I felt that; for sure and this weekend. She is really starting to come to the place where she wants to be at the right time. Looking through the lineup where you've got Lauren [Chamberlin] with two hits, Georgia [Casey] with two hits, Shelby [Pendley] with two hits, Keilani with two hits, Destinee [Martinez] with two hits, Brianna [Turang] with a hit, Callie [Parsons] with a hit. Those who didn't hit got walks. Everybody is contributing."

On why the team is able to jump out to leads in the first inning:
"I just think that they've been excited to play. It doesn't' matter who it is -- just getting out there and putting it together. The idea of handing the torch over. Lauren wants to swing when they are walking her. Then Georgia comes up and does her thing. Shelby does her thing and Ricketts does her thing and so forth and so forth, so it really kind of gets ignited by Lauren at the top of the lineup. One of the questions that everyone is asking me throughout the entire season is, `Why Lauren in the leadoff?' Look at our record and look at our numbers and maybe they won't ask me anymore. Everybody wants to be a part of this."

  Senior Keilani Ricketts

On throwing a no-hitter today:
"It feels good, obviously. I definitely wouldn't have been able to do it without feeding off of my teammates. I was able to get confidence off the way we were playing this weekend, and that really helped my focus."

On what was working for her this weekend:
"I think I was just really focusing on keeping control of my pitches and making good pitches for every at-bat. I know that Iowa State has been putting up lots of runs on people, and I know game three is usually a lot tougher to limit their hits."

  Sophomore Lauren Chamberlain

On the whole lineup contributing this weekend:
"Just the overall mindset is to pass the torch. I think I have the best spot. I'm hitting behind Bri [Turang], who does a phenomenal job every time she gets up to bat, and I am hitting before Georgia [Casey], who picks me up just about every time. It's just a fun lineup to be a part of and just passing the torch. Everybody wants to get their next teammate an at-bat. I get excited when I get in the dugout when I am watching the team play. I am witnessing greatness. It's pretty cool."

On responding after last weekend:
"I didn't stress that much about what happened at Texas. It happens. I think the hardest thing for me is accepting that that's going to happen sometimes and not letting it get to me. This weekend was just about feeling good. I was trying to get more pitches. I got walked a lot, but today I was just looking to take advantage of the opportunities that I got."

On staying focused:
"We are not thinking about the next couple of weeks, pretty much just one game at a time. We have this whole week to get ready for Kansas, and it is going to be tough. They're a tough team always, so we are just getting ready for them."
