AMES, Iowa -- Oklahoma clinched at least a share of its ninth Big 12 title with a 10-0 win over Iowa State Friday in Ames as it moved to 43-8 on the year and 17-5 in the Big 12 while ISU fell to 14-37 and 2-20. OU entered the weekend with a two-game Big 12 lead over Missouri, who begins a three-game home series against Oklahoma State Friday night, and used its 12th game with at least three home runs to earn the first win of its last Big 12 series. The Sooners need just one more win over Iowa State or a Missouri loss to clinch the Big 12 title outright.

The team crept closer to the program's single-season home run record as jumped the 2008 team (78) with four home runs to give it 81 for the season behind the record of 85 set by the 2000 National Championship team. While improving its offensive numbers, the team's defense did its part as well as OU captured its 21st shutout this season, including its sixth Big 12 blanking, and recorded its 24th game with no errors.

Keilani Ricketts got the start for the Sooners and picked up her 27th win of the season as she pitched a complete game, giving up just two hits, to move to 27-6 on the year. The junior finished with 10 strikeouts for her 19th game this season with double-digit strikeouts and allowed just one walk. Tori Torrescano took the loss for the Cyclones to fall to 8-26.

Oklahoma got on the board first in the third inning after Destinee Martinez legged out an infield single to short before freshman Lauren Chamberlain sent her 23rd home run this season over the right field fence for a 2-0 lead. Ricketts collected her 43rd walk of the season before Georgia Casey doubled to right, her eighth two-bagger of the season, to send Ricketts home for OU's third run of the game.

Javen Henson added Oklahoma's 79th home run of the season in the fifth as she led the inning off with a solo shot, her eighth home run of the season and her sixth in Big 12 play. OU added two more runs in the inning after Ricketts sent a double to the gap in left center before Casey laced her eighth home run of the season over the right field fence.

The seventh inning saw the first four Oklahoma batters reach base safely as Chamberlain led off with a double down the left field line before Ricketts and Casey reached on back-to-back walks. With the bases loaded and no outs, Jessica Shults blasted her fifth career grand slam just to the right of the stadium's scoreboard to up the Sooners' run total to 10. The home run was Shults 50th of her career as she sits six shy of tying the OU and Big 12 career record.

The Sooners and the Cyclones return to action Saturday at 2 p.m. before closing the series Sunday at 12 p.m.
