NORMAN, Okla. -- University of Oklahoma redshirt senior Riley Masters won the men's 1,500-meter run at the Stanford Invitational on Friday night in Palo Alto, Calif.
The event featured several of the nations' top distance runners, but Masters stole the show in the 1500, as he finished the race in thrilling fashion with a NCAA leading time of 3:40.77.
The lone OU representative in Palo Alto, Masters finished the race with ease, crossing the finish line nearly two seconds faster than the runner up finisher. It was the second-best time of Masters' career, and the second-best performance by an OU runner, behind his program-leading time of 3:37.19, recorded last year.
The Oklahoma track and field team will conclude weekend competition on Saturday, at the Razorback Spring Invitational.
