MINNEAPOLIS -- The No. 1 Oklahoma men's gymnastics team remained undefeated on the season, battling to a 431.900 - 412.200 win over No. 7 Minnesota at the Sports Pavilion Saturday.

Juniors Alec Robin and William Clement each earned individual event titles, as Robin took the floor title and Clement claimed high bar honors. Junior Danny Berardini added an 83.900 in the all-around.

"It's always a little bit of a challenge to get back out on the road again," said OU head coach Mark Williams. "We had places where guys fought and did a good job, but overall we're still not finishing competition the way I'd like."

Things started slowly for the Sooners in the first rotation on pommel horse, managing a 71.100. Senior Raymond White had the best score at 14.600 for the Sooners, who found themselves down after a rotation for the first time all season, 73.450 - 71.100.

OU bounced back quickly on floor, an event in which the Sooners were ranked No. 1 in the country coming in. Led by a 15.200 by Robin and a 15.100 from junior Dylan Akers, OU scored a 74.500.

The floor score was the third time in three meets this season that OU has earned a total over 74.000, a mark only one other team in the country has hit just once. Following the Sooners' big score, Oklahoma took over the lead, 145.600 - 140.900.

OU scored 72.400 on vault as Van Wicklen hit a 14.900. Robin added a score of 14.650 and senior Presten Ellsworth earned a 14.550.

"This afternoon was not where we need to be," Williams said. "We have plenty to work on, but we look forward to having some home meets these next two weeks, get some guys healthy and continue to improve."

Junior Michael Squires scored a 15.000 and freshman Allan Bower received a score of 14.600 on rings, but the Golden Gophers again narrowed the gap after four rotations, leaving the Sooners with a 289.900 - 287.000 margin.

Holding a similar lead going into the final rotation on parallel bars, Bower started things off with a stuck dismount and a 14.700 for Oklahoma. Ellsworth added a 14.400 as OU finished with a score of 70.600 as a team.

The Sooners return home for a showdown against No. 10 Iowa on Saturday, Feb. 1 at 5 p.m. at McCasland Field House. For tickets, click here.
