Greetings from the OU Sooners! The University of Oklahoma Cheer and Pom squads are excited to invite you to the 62nd year of cheerleading, mascot, and dance camps here at University of Oklahoma where National Championships are won almost every year in one or more sports. We hope that the information in our web site will be helpful as you go through the process of selecting a camp for your team/squad.
We are very proud of our facilities here at the University of Oklahoma. We get to use our athletic and university facilities for all our camps. The Huston Huffman Fitness center is popular among our camp participants because it is about a block from the residence hall and cafeteria. Our dorms have been renovated in the last 5 years and give our camp participants some privacy with the suite-style rooms. The Couch Cafeteria offers and all-you-can-eat meal plan with hot entrees, a sandwich bar, salad and fruit bar, and dessert bar.
We have been in the camp business for 62 years and our camps are managed by adult university staff members. The University and OU Camp Staff do everything possible to ensure that you and your squad have the most positive, safe, and secure camp experience. We have University personnel and camp managers on site 24 hours a day to provide you with any and all help that you might need. Campus police are available at all times and routinely stop by our camp activities.

If your school/squad/team has not been to an OU Spirit camp before and brings at least eight (8) participants, one (1) resident advisor/director/coach pays the commuter fee of $85.
If your school/squad/team won a state title, or won any national competition, then deduct $3.00 from each student registration fee.
If you bring 20 or more* to the same camp, or two squads/teams (Jr. High & High School or JV & Varsity) from the same school, one (1) advisor/director is free.
If your school/squad has attended OU Spirit Camps for five (5) consecutive years (2010-2014), one (1) advisor/director/coach attends free.
* It does not apply if you register 20, but end up with 19.
How to choose a camp for your squad/team?
All of the OU cheer camps are open to any squad, regardless of the type of squad you have.* We do have some camp dates that have traditionally drawn specific squad types. For instance, most small schools and small squads (8 or less) attend the June 22-24 session. Most junior highs and middle schools attend the June 4-6 session. The June 8-11 Stunt session is for competitive squads. *The June 17-19 NCA session is strictly a stunt camp. (No school cheer material or mascot material is offered at this session).

All cheer classes held in the Huston Huffman Fitness Center and McCasland Fieldhouse (both air conditioned) and all classes will utilize cheer mats. Some evening activities held outdoors weather permitting.

Every squad/team must be accompanied by an adult at least 21 years of age. The adult must stay overnight in the residence hall with the squad/team. No one under the age of 21 will be allowed to act as an advisor/director and be responsible for the squad/team overnight. All adults accompanying the squad/team must show proof of a background check performed in the last year.
You will be assigned a check-in time and residence hall in your camp confirmation packet.
All residence halls are air-conditioned, double occupancy and suite style. Two campers will be assigned to a room and four campers will share a bath. Advisors/directors will have a single room, but may share a bath. A room assignment form will be included in the camp confirmation packet. Damages to rooms will be charged to the persons occupying the rooms, but schools are ultimately responsible for student's actions.
All meals will be eaten in Couch Cafeteria which is adjacent to the residence halls. The cafeteria offers an all-you can-eat plan with a selection of entrees, a salad bar and sandwich bar. Your room key lanyard will be your meal ticket.
OU Spirit Camps will provide athletic trainers who will be on duty at all times when camp is in session. They will stay in the residence hall and be available at all classes and sessions. Please contact the trainer in the event of an injury or illness.
All participants and advisors/directors will receive a FREE official OU Camp t-shirt as a way of saying thanks for attending OU camps. You will be able to order t-shirts from the room assignment form.
The University of Oklahoma's Goddard Health Center will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, and available to the participants of the spirit camps. Any major illnesses or injury will be referred to Norman Regional Hospital. Participants will be responsible for paying their own medical expenses at the time treatment is received. A limited-coverage accident and sickness insurance policy is provided for all paid campers. This coverage acts as a secondary carrier to the camper’s primary coverage.
Minor's Release & Acknowledgment must be signed by a parent or legal guardian of the camp participant. Please bring this form and all forms to camp.
