GAME NOTES

• Baylor’s opening field goal came with 7:09 on the clock, which is the latest into a game it has taken Baylor to score. Previously, the latest was last week at Kansas when their first points came at the 9:28 mark.

• Baylor failed to score a touchdown in the opening quarter for the first time since last year’s game at Oklahoma (11/10/12).

• Oklahoma has recorded multiple safeties in the same season for the first time since 2010. Since Bob Stoops’ first season in 1999, no team in the country has more safeties than OU’s 19. The last safety came on a blocked punt at Kansas (10/19).

• Since 2011, Baylor is 24-2 when scoring 40+ points and 18-0 when scoring 40+ at home.

• The Sooners are now 2-1 against ranked opponents on the year and 48-23 in such games under Stoops.

• Oklahoma gave up 459 yards of total offense and 41 points to Baylor after the Bears entered the night leading the NCAA at 718.4 yards per game and 63.9 points per game. 

ROY FINCH

• RB Roy Finch caught a 10-yard TD pass in the third quarter, his second of the season and the second of his career. 

• Finch led the Sooner run game with 36 yards on seven attempts, including a long of 23 yards.

JALEN SAUNDERS

• WR Jalen Saunders had a season-high 56 punt return yards, including a season-long 55 yard return in the second quarter. 

• Saunders caught six passes for a team-high 74 yards.

TREVOR KNIGHT

• QB Trevor Knight made his first appearance since the Notre Dame contest (9/28).

DOMINIQUE ALEXANDER

• LB Dominique Alexander registered a safety in the second quarter. It was the team’s second safety of the season (Kansas, 10/19/13). It was also Alexander’s first career sack.

• Alexander finished second on the team with 11 tackles, including eight solo and one TFL.

QUENTIN HAYES

• DB Quentin Hayes recorded the first sack of his career on the game’s opening drive, forcing Baylor to punt. 

• Hayes also registered a career-high with 10 tackles.

CHARLES TAPPER

• DE Charles Tapper broke up the first pass of his career in the second quarter.

MICHAEL HUNNICUTT

• K Michael Hunnicutt was 1-2 on field goals, extending his school record for career field goals made. He’s now 17-20 on the year and 55-65 in his career.

FRANK SHANNON

• LB Frank Shannon recorded a game-high 15 tackles, including 12 solo and 2 TFLs, for his second game of the season with 15 tackles or more. He previously posted 16 against Texas (10/12).
