On losing Trey Millard to a season-ending injury:
“Losing Trey was really detrimental to our team as a whole. He is not just an offensive player, he is an all-around player, losing him on special teams, kickoff, kickoff return and blocking for myself, Damien [Williams] and Roy [Finch], he does a great job. You never want to see a player like that go down and like I said earlier, he is a humble, down-to-earth kid and it is really heartbreaking to see him go down like that. Our prayers are with him and my condolences are with him and his family. I wish him nothing but the best, but we have to move on. It is rough, but Brannon Green and Aaron Ripkowski are going to do a great job at filling that void. They both have to work together and prepare for this upcoming opponent.”

On the offense averaging five yards per carry:
“It is good, especially being able to run the ball with the amount of guys we have and make plays. It is great to have a carousel of running backs that can go out there and get four or five [yards] a pop. We are doing a great job, but we have to continue to protect the ball. I had a fumble last game, and there are no excuses. We have to keep growing. Damien [Williams] did a great job of making big plays; Roy [Finch] as well. We are going to continue to carry the load for this offense and protect the quarterback.”

On going to Baylor:
“I mean we want to a have a productive, big night every night, not just against Baylor. They are our opponent, another football team so we are going to go out and prepare for them. We need to practice hard and pound that block. That is what we have been doing and we will continue to do so. We will continue to get first downs and third-down conversions and yards-per-carry. We will be fine.”

On OU's six-minute drive without Trey Millard:
“[Brannon Green] played well in that crunch situation. We were only up by five and eight minutes left and that offense could have done something with it so we just continued to get first downs and Brannon was a huge part of that with kicking the defensive end out. [Aaron] Ripkowski did a great job of blocking down, too, so we just continued moving forward, pressing the defense and keeping the clock running.”

On moving from a passing quarterback to a rushing quarterback:
“It is nice to be in that position, we know we need to protect the ball and run physical. Coach [Cale] Gundy does a great job of sizing up the competition in the week of practice. It is nice to be called upon and really come through for our offense as a whole, as a unit. We do a great job with that have to continue to do so.”
