Oklahoma Football
Defensive End Geneo Grissom
Oct. 14, 2013

On how the team played Saturday:
“There are always things you can do better. At the end of the day they beat us fair and square. That is over now and we have to start preparing for Kansas.”

On Texas playing so well:
“You prepare for battles like that every week and to not come out on top after that preparation is unfortunate, but it’s what makes this game such a great game. Somebody has to win, somebody has to lose.”

On playing against their run offense:
“It was something we took pride in as defensive line; being able to stop the ball and they were able to run it right down our throats.”

On his interception boosting spirits:
“Absolutely. You could feel the morale go up on the sidelines and the offense started to get it back together.  Unfortunately they were unable to put points on the board; which happens to everyone. “

On the most surprising part of Texas' offense:
“They were physical and fast. They were ready and not intimidated at all.”

On OU being ready for the game:
“Absolutely. We put the work in every week and, like I said, they just hit us in the mouth and we were unable to respond.”

On the bus ride back:
“It was terrible and to make it worse it started raining on the way back. It is what makes this game a great game, though because you get to come back the next week and play better.”

On the chances of getting the Big 12 Championship:
“Absolutely. The Big 12 is a great conference and you never know. We definitely think we are still in the running.”

On getting into practice again:
“It is going to be huge for us. No one likes to lose, especially this team, so I think we are going to have a big chip on our shoulder all week.”

On playing in his home state of Kansas:
“It is always good to go back to Kansas. It is where a lot of my family is from so I will have to get a lot of tickets for that game. But it is a great environment and I see a lot of my friends from high school. Kansas and Kansas State are usually the games I have to show out for.”

On playing with a chip on their shoulders:
“Absolutely. At the beginning of the season we had high hopes for ourselves and this loss kind of changes that for us. I think we are a little bit upset with ourselves and the way the game went. We will definitely have chips on our shoulders.”

On the physical and emotional toll of being on the field for so long:
“Obviously it wears us down and we need to prepare ourselves for that. We need to be better all around.”
