On improvements that need to be made:
“Defensively, they just out-physicaled us and got what they wanted in the run game. We fell asleep on some plays over the top but it is all stuff we can improve on and become better at.”

On being stronger defensively in the second half:
“We just got ourselves aligned right. They hurt us a little bit in the first half but we just need to realign some stuff. We had some of that stuff under control but we still had a couple busts. It is just little stuff that we can fix. We will get it fixed.”

On UT being so physical:
“I wouldn’t call it surprise because every team in this conference can beat us if we are not playing to the best of our ability. They came out a little tougher than us and hit us in the mouth. It was an eye-opener. I hate for it to happen but we have to be prepared each week.”

On taking the loss as a learning lesson:
“Definitely. That is the only way you can move on from that."

On third-and-longs:
“It hurts. We have to win third downs. I don’t know the exact number but they were killing us on third downs. They had third-and-longs where we couldn’t get off the field and then we screwed ourselves on first and second downs where we gave up four and five yards. Then it’s only third-and-two or third-and-one and we can’t stop it. We have to have a cleaner game next week.”

On getting over a loss:
“Especially here, you aren’t used to losing but it’s part of the game and you just have to move on and prepare for the next week."

On offense not putting a lot of points up against Big 12 teams:
“It can put a lot of pressure on us but no matter what they do [the offense], we need to do ours. We didn’t do ours this weekend and it hurt us. We have to get it going on both sides of the ball.”

On if the team had been overly-confident:
“I don’t think so. I think everybody on the team respected Texas. They are a talented team every year. So I don’t think anyone came over overly-confident; they just came out more physical than us. That is what hurt us.”

On Texas being the first team to put up so many points:
“ Even towards the end we had a few chances to make stops and a couple shots to get back into the game. There points were spread out and we weren’t defeated as much as thinking we need to stop this play or stop this run. I think, to the end, we all thought we were in it.”

On what was surprising about Texas' performance:
“They just came out physical. You have seen them on tape this year and Texas had showed signs that they could be good but they hadn’t put it all together. That day they put it all together and showed up.”

On bus ride back:
“It was quiet and tough. It was a three or four hour drive, and we were all just sick about the game.”

On whether the Texas A&M loss or Texas loss was worse:
“I mean a loss is a loss. I think with A&M we were most upset because we didn’t think we gave our 100 percent. I don’t feel that way about Texas.”
