On the new jerseys:
“Yeah, I saw them and adding a little gold to go with the gold hat is nice.”

On small changes to the uniform effecting people’s attitudes:
“I think so. When you have worn the same thing for four years, any type of little change will be talked about. I think it will look really good on Saturday.”

On his hurdle last year against Texas:
“We had quite a few with Damien [Williams'] 95-yard run and Kenny [Stills] laying the block. We really just settled out as offense during the game.”

“I think so but any big play does that. We were just running the ball well and we had a lot of big plays where we were more physical than them. As the game goes on, and you make more of those plays, you wear down the defense.”

On looking back on the play in film:
“I remember kind of seeing a gap in the play in-between those two guys and I kind of just aimed for it. When you land you just have to keep running and that is what I did.”

On the loss of Corey Nelson:
“We are going to miss him out on the field, but he will be in the locker room and he is just as important as an emotional leader to this defense and the entire team. So he will still be there getting guys up.”

On being the favorite for the team:
“I mean a little bit but they have a bunch of good players. They will come out and play well, but we can beat them in a fight. We can never really sleep with these guys because they have the talent to win.”

On Texas not getting enough credit:
“I don’t know about that. They are a team that has had some underperformances sometimes, especially on the offensive side. They are a team we definitely have to prepare for well, we won’t be going easy on them or anything like that.”

On possibly going 4-0 against Texas:
“It's something you take pride in and there has not been a whole lot of teams or recruiting classes that can say that they came in and did that. So you definitely take pride in it.”

On Blake Bell:
“He has continued to just be competitive out on the field and has made a lot of big moments and big plays.”

On Bell as a roommate:
“He is outgoing and he is one of those guys everyone wants to be around. I think that is part of what makes him a good leader. He doesn’t have to try to be a leader; it just comes naturally.”
