All-American: Darrell Reed
Darrell Reed, De - 1987
Darrell Reed was named All-American in 1987 and is one of only three Sooners to be named all-conference four times. During 1987 he led the Sooners in sacks with eight and tackles for loss with five.
A very tough, quick defender, Reed was extremely durable during his career, coming back from injuries without losing a step. He is tied for fifth on the all-time sack list with 18. The defense he was part of during the 1987 season held opponents to an average of 7.5 points per game while the Sooners went undefeated during the regular season.
Reed was drafted by Green Bay in the fifth round in 1988.
