Daryl Hunt received All-America honors during both the 1977 and '78 seasons, and was named to The Football News squads. He also earned all-conference honors form 1976-78.
Described as a tough, hard-nosed tackler, Hunt led the Sooners in tackles between 1976-78 and finished as the all-time leader with 506 tackles. During his senior year, Hunt recorded an amazing 18 tackles twice, against Texas and Colorado. During the Red River battle he also had an interception, setting up an OU touchdown and a sack forcing the 'Horns to punt.
Hunt was drafted by the Houston Oilers in the sixth round in 1979.
