Oklahoma has played in six conferences over its history beginning with the Southwest Conference in 1915. Since that time, the Sooners have won 75% of their conference games and captured 43 conference championships. | OU Conference Titles | Big 12 Titles

Colorado and Nebraska departed the Big 12 Conference following the 2010 season. The conference dissolved the divisions and title game in 2011 with all teams playing each other in a round-robin schedule. Following the 2011 season, Texas A&M and Missouri left the conference while TCU and West Virginia joined.

Four members of the defunct Southwest Conference (Baylor, Texas, Texas A&M and Texas Tech) joined with the original Big 8 conference members to form the Big 12 Conference. The conference was split into two divisions of six teams each with the North and South division champions playing for the title in the conference championship game.

Oklahoma joined the Missouri Valley Conference for the 1920 season which consisted of Missouri, Kansas, Iowa State, Drake, Washington (of Missouri), Grinnell and Kansas State. Nebraska joined the conference in 1921 after being an independent during the 1919 and 1920 seasons.

Oklahoma joined the Southwest Conference for the 1915 season which consisted of Baylor, Arkansas, Texas, Texas A&M, Rice, Oklahoma A&M (later to become Oklahoma State), and Southwestern University (in Georgetown, Texas). Southwestern departed after the 1916 season while Rice and SMU joined in the 1918 season.
