Sooners in the NFL: Week 10
November 13, 2013

Matchup of Former Sooners Goes to Saints

Five former Sooners were in action Sunday night as the New Orleans Saints hosted the Dallas Cowboys.

The Saints, featuring linebacker Curtis Lofton, wide receiver Kenny Stills and kicker Garrett Hartley, used a 21-point second quarter to overwhelm the Cowboys, who featured running back DeMarco Murray and tight end James Hanna, 49-17.

Stills was one of several Saints skill players to make an impact as he caught three passes for 75 yards, including a great adjustment on a 52-yard touchdown reception to put New Orleans up 42-17 in the fourth quarter.

Lofton made four tackles in the win, while Hartley missed his lone field goal try, but did convert all seven point afters.

In the loss, Murray rushed 16 times for 89 yards, including this 35-yarder and this seven-yard touchdown run, and caught one pass for six yards, while Hanna caught three passes for 11 yards.

Peterson Scores Twice in Thursday Night Win

Adrian Peterson continues to prove why he’s the top running back in the NFL as he scored two touchdowns and gained 75 yards on 20 carries as Minnesota defeated Washington, 34-27, on Thursday night.

It’s the third straight game Peterson has scored in and marks the third contest this year he has had at least two rushing touchdowns.

Peterson gave the Vikings their first lead of the game in the first quarter when he scored from 18 yards out. He then waltzed into the end zone in the final minute of the third quarter from one yard away on what would end up being the game-winning touchdown.

On the losing side, Chris Chester (right guard) and Trent Williams (left tackle) started on the offensive line for Washington, and provided blocking on this 26-yard run.
