OAK RIDGE, Tenn. -- Senior Marilyn Kozlowski and junior Kim Moldenhauer were named to the 2014 Conference USA All-Academic Team for women's rowing, the conference announced.
Kozlowski, a two-time winner of the C-USA Academic Medal, hails from Norman, Okla. She carries a 3.86 GPA in health and exercise science and rows in the first varsity eight for OU, the defending C-USA champions. Two weeks ago, the senior was named to the All-Big 12 First Team after helping the 1V8 take first at the Big 12 Championship. Kozlowski is also a winner of the Big 12's Gerald Lage Academic Achievement Award, the conference's highest academic honor.
Winner of the 2013 NCAA Elite 89 honor as the student-athlete with the highest academic achievement among NCAA Championship participants, Moldenhauer joins Kozlowski on the All-Academic Team. She is a three-time C-USA Commissioner's Academic medalist and a two-time All-Academic Team member. The Bremen, Germany, native is a double major in finance and entrepreneurship and venture management, and is one of three members of this year's all-academic team with a perfect 4.0 GPA. A member of the 1V8 boat, Moldenhauer is a 2014 All-Big 12 Second Team honoree.
The C-USA All-Academic Team are voted on by a panel of sports information directors from a pool that consists of student-athletes who have earned a 3.2 cumulative grade point average or better and are a key contributor to their team. This year's squad each compiled a GPA of 3.65 or better, averaging an impressive 3.904.
OU is currently in Oak Ridge, Tenn., preparing to defend their title at the 2014 C-USA Rowing Championship on Saturday, May 17, at Melton Hill Lake.
