NORMAN, Okla. -- Oklahoma rowing won two more medals, including a gold, on the second and final day of the Head of the Hooch on Sunday in Chattanooga, Tenn.

All told, OU earned three medals and nine top 10 finishes in five races over the weekend on the Tennessee River.

Competing in the women's open pair race, OU boats took both the gold and silver medals in a dominant performance. Sooner pair Rachel Cantrell and Heather Morris finished in first place with a time of 18:05.1 while Kellie O'Reilly and Emmie Preskitt took second in 18:07.6, almost nine seconds ahead of the third-place finisher.

OU's other two boats in the race also finished in the top 10, as Kim Moldenhauer and Marilyn Kozlowski placed sixth and the pair of Kristin Clift and Victoria Wallace taking ninth.

"Overall, I'm pleased with the team's performance," said OU head coach Leeanne Crain. "We split our lineups today and put our top eight in pairs and they came away with gold and silver. The second varsity eight had a great race in the open eights event finishing fourth, just a tenth of a second off the third place crew. Our novices got in front of some teams they lost to yesterday so they are continuing to improve as well."

The Sooners raced four boats in the open eight, an event that sponsored 38 total boats. OU's second varsity eight placed fourth in a time of 15:38.6 with the third varsity eight taking 14th in 16:12.0.

Two OU novice boats also competed in the open eight, taking 19th (16:39.6) and 34th (18:36.1), respectively.

Oklahoma will finish the fall season in two weeks on Nov. 17 at the Rivanna Romp in Charlottesville, Va.
