Luther Lee

Luther Lee serves as Associate Athletics Director/Chief Financial Officer for the University of Oklahoma Athletics Department. In that position, he provides administrative supervision for the business office, information technology and the athletics ticket office. He also serves as the department's liaison with OU's Housing and Food Services and IMG College Seating.
 
He joined the Sooner staff as Assistant Athletics Director for Business Operations in September 2008 after holding the same position in the University of South Florida Athletics Department.
 
At OU, Lee is responsible for financial reporting, developing and monitoring the department's budget and managing the day-to-day business operations of the department.
 
Lee provides recommendations to the Executive Associate AD and Director of Athletics regarding overall effectiveness, policies, procedures and internal controls in addition to ensuring departmental compliance with State, Federal, NCAA, University and Big 12 governing rules and regulations.

 

Prior to his experience at South Florida, Lee was the Director of Finance for the Sun Dome in Tampa -- a direct support organization for the USF Athletics Department.
 
Lee supervised a payroll of 50 full-time and 100 part-time employees, developed business office staff and internal control procedures and was responsible for financial reporting, budget preparation and tax compliance.
 
Lee began his athletics department experience at the University of Southern Mississippi as a graduate assistant in business operations/internal affairs and an internship with ISP Sports while he earned his master's degree in sports management.
 
Prior to earning his master's, Lee amassed more than 12 years of professional accounting and business consulting experience at CPA firms throughout Mississippi, as an auditor with the Mississippi State Tax Division and Pruet Oil Company.
 
A 1993 accounting graduate of the Else School of Management at Millsaps College in Jackson, Miss., Lee earned his master's degree in sports management from Southern Miss in 2006.
 
Lee resides in Norman with his wife, Marcy, and his three children: daughter, Laura Mae and sons, James and Riley.
