NORMAN, Okla. -- Three Sooners were named to the Women's Golf Coaches Association All-America Team, the organization announced Thursday. Seniors Chirapat Jao-Javanil and Anne-Catherine Tanguay and freshman Alexandra Kaui were all selected to the honorable mention squad.

Jao-Javanil, who was the 2012 national champion, earned her third All-America honor (she earned first-team acclaim each of the previous two seasons). The Hua-Hin, Thailand, native was a four-time All-Big 12 honoree and won the 2012 NCAA and 2014 Big 12 individual titles. Jao-Javanil finished her career ranked first at OU in career scoring average at 73.07 (+1.42 versus par), and posted four of the Sooners' top six all-time single-season scoring averages in relation to par, including two of the top three.

Tanguay's honorable mention All-America award was her second in as many years. The outgoing senior ranks second in OU career scoring average at 74.09 (+2.44 versus par). The Quebec City, Quebec, native was a two-time All-Big 12 honoree and finished in the top 10 in 34 percent of her collegiate events.

Kaui, a Honolulu, Hawaii, native who was the Big 12 Freshman of the Year, broke four program records in her rookie season and earned two Big 12 Golfer-of-the-Month Awards. She finished with a team-best 72.76 season stroke average, the second best in relation to par (+1.71) in single-season school annals.

“I’m really proud of these young ladies for being named All-Americans,” fifth-year OU head coach Veronique Drouin-Luttrell said. “They’ve all worked hard and it’s an honor to be selected. To have three players named All-Americans is a great achievement for our program.”

The 2014 WGCA All-America Team consists of 40 student-athletes, comprised of first, second and honorable mention squads.
