NORMAN, Okla. -- Former Oklahoma wrestler Matt Grice is in critical condition following a Sept. 8 multicar accident in Shawnee, Okla., in which a car rear-ended him at a red light.
While Grice has not woken up since the accident, he is now breathing on his own and responding to verbal cues. There is also movement in his arms and legs.
Grice, who was at OU in the early 2000s, and his wife, Caroline, have two young children. Grice attended Harrah High School, winning four state championships and being named most outstanding wrestler three times. Now, he works as an Oklahoma City police office and as a UFC fighter.
A fund has been established to raise money to support Grice and his family and to aid with medical bills. So far, donations total over $20,000, with a goal of $30,000 set. To donate, visit here.
