SUMMER 2009:
Won a bronze medal at the 2009 Junior World Championships in Ankara, Turkey...took first at the FILA Junior World Team Trials in the 74 kg/163 lbs. weight class...competed at 2009 World Team Trials and placed fourth in the freestyle competition at 74 kg/163 lbs....finished sixth at U.S. Senior Nationals to earn a spot at the World Team Trials

AS A FRESHMAN (2008-09):
Finished second at the NCAA championships...first UW freshman to be named All-American since Donny Pritzlaff in 1998 (sixth at 150 lbs.)...first NCAA finalist for Wisconsin since Craig Henning in 2007...first UW freshman NCAA runner-up since Lee Kemp in 1975...Big Ten Champion at 165 lbs....named to the All-Big Ten team...Big Ten Freshman of the Year...finished season ranked second by InterMat Poll...had the longest winning streak on the team with 19-straight matches...finished 30-5 overall, 13-0 in duals and 8-0 in Big Ten duals...had a 14-5 record against ranked opponents...highest ranked freshman in the country at No. 2...went 5-0 in overtime and 4-0 in tiebreakers...one of four true freshmen to start for the Badgers...was the only true freshman ranked at 165 lbs....entered the rankings for the first time on Dec. 9 at No. 15 for 165 lbs....placed fifth at the Cliff Keen Invite and fourth at Midlands...upset then-No. 2 Moza Fay of Northern Iowa at Midlands...compiled a 14-4 record before conference action and a perfect 5-0 mark in duals...his four losses were at the hands of top-five opponents

Three-time Indiana State Champion...state runner-up his freshman year...compiled a 192-1 record over four years at Hanover Central High School...his lone loss came his freshman year in the state finals...captured gold (160 lbs.) at the 2008 Junior Freestyle National Championships in Fargo...finished first at 152 lbs. at Western Junior Regional Championships in 2007...made honor roll at Hanover Central...ranked No. 3 at 160 lbs. in the InterMat Final All-Class High School Rankings of the 2007-08 school year
