NORMAN – The University of Oklahoma Athletics Department has announced that this upcoming weekend will be recognized as Sooner Salute Weekend.

The weekend’s events will feature the jersey honoring of Oklahoma women’s basketball great Courtney Paris Friday as the Sooners host Belmont at 7 p.m. CT, a salute to veterans during Saturday’s football game against TCU and fan appreciation day as OU men’s basketball opens its season against Omaha at Lloyd Noble Center at 2 p.m. CT. on Sunday.

Fans from across Sooner Nation attending Saturday’s top-10 football matchup between No. 5 Oklahoma and No. 8 TCU will be given free admission at both OU men’s and women’s basketball games.

Fans can redeem their football tickets at the Lloyd Noble Center box office 90 minutes prior to tip-off for admission into both basketball games.

For both OU men’s and women’s basketball games, a pregame fan fest will be set up outside of Lloyd Noble Center near the east entrance. Activities include face painting, yard games, DJ and a photo booth.

OU students will also be admitted to both basketball games this weekend for free.

Courtney Paris Jersey Honoring

OU women’s basketball great Courtney Paris will have her jersey honored during Friday night’s season-opener as the Sooners host Belmont at 7 p.m. inside Lloyd Noble Center. Paris, the first four-time All-American in women’s basketball history, set 20 NCAA records and 69 OU records during her playing career at OU. The 2007 AP National Player of the Year, Paris led OU to the 2009 Final Four, two Big 12 tournament titles and three Big 12 regular season titles during her time as a Sooner.

Paris’ jersey will be raised to the rafters during halftime of Friday’s game. Tickets for OU’s season-opener are available through the OU Athletics Ticket Office starting at $5.

Salute to Veterans

In conjunction with Veterans Day, Saturday’s football game against TCU will feature an American Flag presentation held by local military personnel during the National Anthem. The Pride of Oklahoma will also perform a special Veterans Day halftime show.

Saturday’s top-10 matchup will kick-off at 7 p.m. CT.

Fan Appreciation Day at Men’s Basketball

The Sooners will usher in the 2017-18 regular season on Sunday at 2 p.m. against Omaha. Fans will be welcomed into Lloyd Noble Center with a pregame fan fest near the east entrance. Members of OU’s student section, The BoomSquad, will also receive a free t-shirt and camouflage koozie.

Fans without a TCU football ticket can purchase single-game tickets to the season opener for as low as $10.
