Sooners Slated for ASU Thunderbird Invite

NORMAN – The Oklahoma women’s tennis team hits the road for the ASU Thunderbird Invitational in Tempe, Ariz., for its last tournament of the fall slate.

Seniors Malene Stripp, Simran Sethi and Christie Brigante along with freshman Camila Romero will make the trip. In their last tournament, Stripp led the way for the Sooners with a round of 32 finish at the ITA Central Regional Championships, where Sethi also advanced to the consolation draw’s round of 16.

The ASU Thunderbird Invitational field includes Notre Dame, TCU, Cal, Illinois, Ohio State, San Diego, Northern Arizona, Fresno State and host Arizona State, and features a 32-player singles draw. The Sooners will play a total of six doubles matches, or three per pair.  

Tournament action kicks off Friday with doubles action beginning at 10:30 a.m. CT. Draws for the first round are below.
