NORMAN – The University of Oklahoma volleyball team lost to a ranked opponent for the third match in a row with a 3-0 defeat to No. 24 Baylor at McCasland Field House on Saturday afternoon. The Sooners’ played three ranked opponents in a row for the second season in a row and just the sixth time under head coach Santiago Restrepo, who is in his 14th season at OU.
The Bears’ (18-5, 8-2 Big 12) straight-sets victory came by scores of 25-19, 25-22 and 25-17. The two sides were even at 18-18 before BU finished the first on a 7-1 run.
Baylor outside hitter Yossiana Pressley led all players with 20 kills on a .395 attack rate. She added six digs and six block assists. OU junior outside hitter Alyssa Enneking (League City, Texas) led the home side with 11 kills and picked up 10 digs for her team-leading 13th double-double of the season.
Setter Hannah Lockin guided a Baylor offense that hit a collective .297 with 24 assists and added six digs. For the Sooners, junior setter Audrey Alford (Norman, Okla.) had 26 assists and seven digs.
Libero Jana Brusek tallied 13 digs for the Bears, while Aniah Phil chipped in with 10 digs and eight kills. Junior outside hitter Morgan Miller (Magnolia, Texas) registered a team-high 11 digs for Oklahoma to go with eight kills.
The Sooners are off in the midweek before returning to action at home against West Virginia on Saturday, November 4 at 7 p.m.
