NORMAN  The Oklahoma soccer team hosts its first and only exhibition matchup on Friday as the No. 16 Sooners take on No. 8 BYU at 7 p.m. CT.

The exhibition game at the OU Soccer Complex is free and open to the public.

The Sooners enter 2017 with six returning starters, including Preseason All-Big 12 selection Paige Welch, after advancing to the second round of the NCAA Tournament a year ago.

For the second straight year, OU was picked third in the Big 12 Soccer Preseason Poll by the league’s coaches.

Friday’s exhibition is a rematch of last season’s NCAA Tournament second-round matchup with BYU as the Cougars ended OU’s run with a 2-1 win in Columbia, S.C. BYU returns its entire backline from last year’s squad that ranked ninth in the NCAA in goals-against average.

Fans can listen to the exhibition match locally on KREF 1400-AM. Live stats for the match can be found here.

Season tickets, mini-plans and single-game tickets are on sale now for purchase online and by phone (800-456-GoOU).

OU opens the regular season on Aug. 18 against Arizona at 7 p.m. CT.
