EDMOND, Okla. — The No. 13 Oklahoma men’s golf team wrapped up its regular season with a share of second place at The Maxwell. The two-day, 54-hole tournament was held at the par-70, 7,102-yard Oak Tree Country Club East Course.

The Sooners shot a 284 (+4) in the final round to finish the event at 855 (+15) and advance into a tie with New Mexico.

“I saw our guys fight—they hung in there,” OU head coach Ryan Hybl said. “Again, the wind popped up. The golf course was playing pretty difficult, so overall, I think it was a pretty good day.”

No. 5 Oklahoma State took the team title with an 849 (+9). The Sooners and the Lobos bested No. 1 Baylor by 15 strokes. UCLA and Liberty tied for fifth at 871 (+31).

Junior Grant Hirschman was OU’s best finisher, claiming a piece of fourth place with an overall 212 (+2). He sunk two birdies en route to an even-par 70 on Saturday, earning his third top-five finish of the season and fifth consecutive placing in the top 20.

“Hirschman did a really nice job,” Hybl said. “He continues to be super consistent, and he’s just one of the guys that always seems to do the right things, and I love watching him continue to grow.”

Classmate Rylee Reinertson ended one stroke behind Hirschman to tie for sixth. He posted a 73 (+3) in the final round to mark his second career top-10 finish.

“I was really fired up for Rylee,” Hybl said of Reinertson’s performance on the weekend. “He’s continuously showed that he’s ready to play for us.”

Brad Dalke also claimed a top-10 placing, his first of the season, with a tie for 10th. The sophomore native tallied a 70 (E) on the final 18 holes to total a 214 (+14) for the weekend.

Sophomore Blaine Hale carded a 73 (+3) in the third round to earn a share of 23rd at 218 (+8).

Senior Max McGreevy improved in the final round, shooting a 71 (+1). He finished in a tie for 62nd at 227 (+17).

Five Sooners competed as individuals and were unattached from team scoring. Freshman Riley Casey was the best finisher among that group, claiming 19th place with an overall 217 (+7) after recording a 71 (+1) on Saturday.

Redshirt freshman Quade Cummins carded a 73 (+3) in the final round to finish 28th at 219 (+9). True freshman Garett Reband posted a 74 (+4) to total 221 (+11) and claim a share of 33rd.
