Sooners Add November Game Against Minnesota
NORMAN – Oklahoma added another marquee neutral site contest to its 2019-20 non-conference schedule on Tuesday by announcing a matchup against Minnesota. The game will be played on Saturday, Nov. 9 at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, S.D.
Ticket and television information will be announced at a later date.
"We're excited to add another challenging neutral site game for next season by facing a talented Minnesota team at the Sanford Pentagon," said OU head coach Lon Kruger. "Sanford Health is a huge proponent of college basketball and a crucial ally in the fight against cancer through their support of the Coaches vs. Cancer organization."
The contest will be the first time Oklahoma has played a men's basketball game in South Dakota.
The Sooners and Gophers have met eight previous times, but only twice since 1961. The series is tied 4-4 with Oklahoma winning the most recent matchup at the 2004 Great Alaska Shootout.
Oklahoma has previously announced non-conference matchups against Oregon State (Nov. 12 in Portland, Ore.) in the PK80 Invitational and versus Creighton (TBA in Omaha) as part of the Big 12's scheduling alliance with the BIG EAST. The Sooners will also take part in the Hall of Fame Classic in Kansas City on Nov. 25 and 26 alongside Butler, Missouri and Stanford.
A complete non-conference schedule will be announced at a later time.
