WOODBURY, Minn. - Oklahoma women's golf concluded its time at the Minnesota Invitational on Tuesday, finishing the event in a tie for eighth place. The Sooners shot a 295 (+7) in the final round to finish with a 54-hole total of 883 (+19) at the 6,479-yard, par-72 Prestwick Golf Club in Woodbury, Minn.

"We learned a lot about ourselves as a team this week," said OU head coach Veronique Drouin-Luttrell. "We have a great idea of what we need to work on before The Schooner. We had some good moments today but had trouble finishing our round. We'll tweak a few things the next couple of weeks."

San Jose State won the event with a 54-hole score of 291 (+3).

A duo of young Sooners led the team in the opening event of the season. Sophomore Hannah Lee finished tied for 17th after posting a 76 (+4) in her final round and a combined three-round score of 220 (+4). Lee's week was highlighted by a 4-under 68 in her opening round.

Freshman Libby Winans carded a 75 (+3) in her final round to tie for 29th with a three-round score of 222 (+6). Winans completed her first event for the Sooners with four birdies in her final round and 10 birdies on the tournament.

Sophomore Kaitlin Milligan came in 1-under par (71) on Tuesday to tie Winans in 29th with a 54-hole score of 222 (+6). Milligan had a six shot improvement from her opening round Monday morning.

Sophomore Sydney Youngblood posted a 73 (+1), a four-shot improvement from her second round, and tied for 35th with a 54-hole score of 223 (+7). Senior Julienne Soo shot a 76 (+4) to tie for 50th with a 226 (+10).

The Sooners return to Norman to prepare for their home tournament, the Schooner Fall Classic. The three-day tournament will begin on Friday, Sept. 28th.

Hosted in partnership with the Toby Keith Foundation at the Belmar Golf Club in Norman, the Schooner Fall Classic continues to be one of the premiere regular-season tournaments in college golf. Five of the 15 teams in this year's field qualified for the 2018 NCAA Championships.
