NORMAN – A pair of former Oklahoma greats have guided their teams to the WNBA Playoffs, which begin Tuesday.

Courtney Paris and the Seattle Storm earned the No. 1 overall seed in the 2018 WNBA Playoffs and received a bye to the semifinals. The Storm finished the season with a league-best 26-8 overall record to lock up the top spot in the WNBA standings. Danielle Robinson and the Minnesota Lynx secured a playoff spot with an 18-16 record, earning the No. 7 seed.

Paris has been a key contributor off the bench for Seattle, appearing 34 games and averaging 10.6 minutes per contest. The four-time All-American and three-time Big 12 Player of the Year averaged 2.1 points, 3.9 rebounds and 0.2 blocks per contest during the regular season.

Seattle will await its first opponent and open the WNBA Playoffs on Sunday at 4 p.m. CT on ESPN2. The semifinals are a best-of-5 games series with the Storm holding home court advantage.

The Storm are also led by first-year head coach Dan Hughes, who serves as an analyst on Sooner Sports TV.

In her first year with Minnesota, Robinson excelled in her role as a backup point guard for the Lynx. Robinson played well down the stretch for Minnesota, before suffering a season-ending injury on Aug. 9. The three-time All-American will miss the WNBA Playoffs, but was rewarded with a contact extension by the Lynx on Aug. 19.

In 28 games (two starts) this season, Robinson averaged 9.3 points and 4.5 asists per game in 27.1 minutes a contest. The Lynx will face the Los Angeles Sparks in a rematch of last year's WNBA Finals on Tuesday at 9:30 p.m. CT on ESPN2. The winner will advance to to second round of the WNBA Playoffs, which will take place on Thursday on ESPN2.
