NORMAN - Oklahoma's men's and women's track and field teams brought the 2019 outdoor season to a close at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships this weekend in Austin, Texas.

Overall, the Sooners leave Austin with one first-team All-American and four second-team All-Americans. On the third and fourth days of action at Mike A. Myers Stadium on the campus of the University of Texas, three more Oklahoma student-athletes joined senior Meagan Gray and redshirt junior Meia Gordon, who earned All-America honors during the first two days of competition.

Gray took sixth place in the women's pole vault with a personal-best mark of 14-3.25 (4.35m) to leave her first career NCAA Outdoors appearance as a first-team All-American. Gordon claimed 14th place with a throw of 53-4.5 (16.27m), marking her second consecutive outdoor season as a second-team All-American.

On Friday, Sooners Adé Mason and Papay Glaywulu both finished in the top-16 of the men's triple jump to claim their own second-team All-America honors.

Mason, a junior, closed his first season as a Sooner with a ninth-place mark of 53-9 (16.38m). The leap was a personal-best, topping his previous PR mark from the NCAA West Prelims on May 23-25. Mason finishes the 2019 outdoor campaign with five top-nine finishes in five triple jump competitions.

Glaywulu came in 15th with a leap of 52-3.75 (15.94m). The sophomore is a second-team All-American for the second straight year after taking 14th at the 2018 NCAA Outdoor Championships during his freshman season.

The last Sooner standing in 2019, Essence Thomas, finished in 16th place with a leap of 42-7.5 (12.99m) in the women's triple jump to grab the final spot as a second-team All-American. Thomas closes her sophomore season with her first career All-America honor. Thomas took home five top-five finishes over the course of her 2019 outdoor campaign, including two event victories.

Oklahoma concludes a successful 2019 outdoor track and field season with 11 NCAA Outdoor Championship qualifiers, four second-team All-Americans, one first-team All-American and one Big 12 Champion.
