NORMAN – Three Oklahoma student-athletes and a Sooner assistant coach are set to wrestle at the 2019 World Team Trials Challenge Tournament in Raleigh, N.C., May 17-19.

Jake Woodley (92 kg), Jake Boyd (97 kg), Dom Demas (65 kg) and assistant coach Nick Heflin (87 kg) will all compete over the weekend. Woodley and Boyd are set to wrestle in the junior division, competing for a spot on the Junior World Team to represent Team USA.

Demas and Heflin are slated to compete in the senior division. The winners of the senior division's best-of-three finals will advance to Final X on June 8 in Piscataway, N.J., to wrestle for a spot on the Senior World Team.

Woodley earned his spot at the World Team Trials with a 4-1 record at the 2019 Marine Corps US Open Wrestling Championships on April 26-28, losing only the championship bout. Demas was a member of the 2018 Junior World Team, guaranteeing him a spot at this year's senior trials, while Boyd secured a spot in the junior trials by virtue of a top-eight finish at the 2018 Junior National Championship and a top-four finish at the 2018 Junior World Team Trial.

Competition begins Friday at 9 a.m. CT with the junior men’s freestyle first round. The senior freestyle first round begins at 9 a.m. CT on Saturday.

The event will be available on FloWrestling.
