Thank You, Sooner Nation
Dear Sooner Nation,
Shout out to the No. 1 fans in the world!
On behalf of the 2019 senior class, we want to say thank you for everything. This year was something special. It was about so much more than gymnastics; we learned to compete for something bigger than ourselves. From the outside, it looks as if this year was a breeze but from the inside, it was anything but. However, this brought us closer and made us stronger. That’s what made this team so special. So many people stepped up into new roles and pushed themselves to be what the team needed in that moment. We’re so proud of this team and everything we accomplished this year.
Looking back on the last four years, it has been an such an amazing ride. We have won three NCAA National Championships, four Big 12 Championships, and combined for 16 All-America honors. All of these accolades are great, but what we will remember most about our experience is the Sooner fans. You all are amazing. From traveling to road trips, to filling the Lloyd Noble Center, to celebrating a National Championship…you all are what made competing as a Sooner so special. We have so many amazing memories here that we will cherish for the rest of our lives.

One of the most special moments from this year was the meet against UCLA. We had a rough week leading up to this meet and a lot of us were nervous heading into the competition. Once we walked into the arena full of Sooner fans cheering us on, all the nerves melted away. There was so much energy in the arena that day and you could truly feel the Sooner Magic in the air. This day was special for all of us who were competing, but also for every single Sooner gymnast who paved the way for us to have this opportunity. We broke the attendance record that day with over 10,000 fans cheering us on. We are at the top of a mountain built by all those who came before us.
With the completion of our gymnastics careers, we step into the next chapter of our lives. The University of Oklahoma has given us so many amazing opportunities. This summer Brenna, Nico and Alex are studying abroad together in Italy. Brenna then goes on to study economics in London. Nico is also taking a course in Australia for aspiring veterinarians. She will be working hands on with local wildlife under the training of experienced veterinarians.

Even though we are hanging up our grips, none of us are done being Sooners yet. The next step for us is to finish our education. Brenna is pursuing her master’s degree in economics. Alex is finishing up her undergrad and then going to nursing school as she hopes to own her own practice one day. Nico is finishing up degrees in biology and economics and then plans on attending veterinarian school. Ashley is also finishing up her undergrad and wants to be a gymnastics coach. This year she will be student coaching with the OU gymnastics team.
Thank you, Sooner Nation, for everything. We are truly thankful for the opportunity to represent the No. 1 school in the nation. We have felt so much love and support from you all that has carried us through these last four years. Boomer Sooner forever!
