NORMAN – Oleksandra Korashvili of the Oklahoma women’s tennis team has been selected for the 2019 NCAA Division I Women’s Tennis Singles Championships, the organization announced Tuesday.

Korashvili will compete in the 64-player singles draw, which will take place May 20-25 at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla., following the team tournament that runs May 16-19.

Korashvili becomes the third player in OU history to represent the Sooners at the event. This will also mark the third straight season that OU has sent a player to the tournament after Lily Miyazaki made back-to-back appearances in 2017 and 2018.

In her first season at Oklahoma, Korashvili has tallied a 16-7 record, playing primarily at the top spot. The junior owns seven wins over ranked opponents with four of those top-25 wins. Korashvili is currently ranked No. 26 in the ITA singles release and has risen as high as No. 19 this season.

Times and draws for the tournament will be announced at a later date.
