NORMAN — Oklahoma junior pitcher Giselle Juarez and sophomore utility player Jocelyn Alo earned a pair of Big 12 weekly accolades, the conference office announced Tuesday.

Juarez was tabbed the Big 12 Pitcher of the Week for the third straight week and the fifth time this season. Alo was named Big 12 Co-Player of the Week, sharing the honor with Oklahoma State’s Samantha Show, for her first weekly accolade this season and the second of her career.

Overall, Sooners have claimed 14 of the Big 12’s 27 weekly honors this season.

Juarez went 2-0 over two starts at Iowa State last weekend, registering her second perfect game of the season in the series finale. She becomes the first Big 12 pitcher since Paige Parker in 2015 to have multiple perfect games in a season.

The Glendale, Ariz., native struck out 12 of the 15 batters she faced on Sunday, the most by a Big 12 pitcher in a conference game this season. Juarez also fanned 10 batters in the series opener on Friday to finish with a league-high 22 strikeouts and 12.83 strikeouts per seven innings pitched.

Overall, Juarez scattered four hits over 12 innings to lead the Big 12 with a .098 opponent batting average last week. She allowed just one earned run, good for a 0.58 ERA that ranked third in the conference and first among pitchers with multiple appearances.

Juarez remained undefeated on the year, improving to 20-0 as the perfect game clinched the 20th win of her junior campaign.

Alo led the Big 12 in slugging percentage (1.818), hits (7), home runs (4), runs scored (5), RBIs (10) and total bases (20) last week. Starting all four of OU’s games in right field, Alo finished 7-for-11 at the plate and ranked second in the conference in batting average (.636) and on-base percentage (.714).

A native of Hauula, Hawaii, Alo hit two home runs at Wichita State on April 24, marking her second game this season with multiple home runs and the fifth of her career. She also doubled to finish with 10 total bases while driving in five runs against the Shockers.

In the series opener at Iowa State, Alo crushed her first career grand slam. She also homered in game two of Friday’s doubleheader.

Behind Alo’s performance, Oklahoma led the Big 12 in batting average (.343), on-base percentage (.457), slugging percentage (.790), runs (39), hits (36), doubles (eight) and home runs (13) last week.

The Sooners are back in action this weekend as they face off with Oklahoma State in the regular season finale. OU visits Stillwater on Friday (6 p.m.), hosts the Cowgirls in Norman on Saturday (7 p.m.) and returns to Stillwater on Sunday (3 p.m.).
