Four Wrestlers Headed to Las Vegas for US Open

NORMAN – Four Oklahoma wrestlers are set to compete at the Marine Corps US Open Wrestling Championships in Las Vegas, Nev., April 26-27.

Anthony Madrigal (61 kg), Dom Demas (65 kg), Jake Woodley (92 kg) and Jake Boyd (97 kg) will wrestle at the event with the opportunity to qualify for the UWW Junior and Senior World Team Trials held in Raleigh, N.C. on May 17-18

Madrigal, Woodley and Boyd will all compete as juniors (ages 17-20) while Demas will wrestle at the senior level.

Demas, who finished fourth at 141 pounds and earned All-America status at the 2019 NCAA Wrestling Championships, earned the No. 8 seed at 65 kg.

All four OU wrestlers will compete in the freestyle division at the event.

Competition begins Friday at 11 a.m. CT with senior men’s freestyle preliminaries. The junior freestyle preliminaries begin at 5 p.m. CT.
