NORMAN – Oklahoma rising sophomore guard Taylor Robertson was invited by USA Basketball and the Junior National Team Committee to participate in the 2019 FIBA Under-19 World Cup Trials, the organization announced this week.

Robertson will participate in the trials process, which runs May 16-19 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo. The trials process will select a 12-player roster that will take part in training camp from July 5-21 before traveling to Bangkok, Thailand, for the FIBA U-19 World Cup July 22-28. Thirty players were invited to compete at the trials process.

The McPherson, Kan., native averaged 14.3 points per game during her freshman season at Oklahoma, knocking down an OU freshman record 105 3-pointers and finishing with a .467 clip from beyond the arc. The Big 12 All-Freshman selection ranked second nationally in 3-point field goal percentage and finished fifth in Division I with 3.50 3-pointers made per game.

Robertson’s 105 3-pointers in 2018-19 marked the second-most made in one season by a Sooner. She also posted an .889 free throw percentage, the third-best clip in OU single-season history. Robertson was named the Big 12 Freshman of the Week four times during the season.
