OU Announces Spring Game, Concert Details
NORMAN — The University of Oklahoma Athletics Department has announced several details and entertainment options surrounding the April 13 spring football game, including a pregame concert inside Gaylord Family – Oklahoma Memorial Stadium by country music performer Lee Brice.
Brice, a two-time CMA/ACM/Grammy Song of the Year nominee who has a current Billboard top-25 hit in "Rumor," will play his concert set on the stadium field from a four-foot-high stage that will be located on the turf, a change from last year's setup when the stage was located in the north bleachers. The show will last from approximately 1:30 to 2:45 p.m. The Spring Game is scheduled to kick off at approximately 3 p.m.
Tickets for OU football season ticket holders cost $8. Season ticket holders can log in now to their season ticket account to order, or can call the OU Athletics Ticket Office at (405) 325-2424 during normal business hours. Tickets for non-season ticket holders are $10. Online orders are subject to a nominal convenience fee at the time of purchase, and additional fees may apply.
The OU Athletics Department is also offering a limited number of $30 tickets that will allow fans on the field for the concert and provide reserved seating in sections 7 and 8 for the game. A limited number of $25 club tickets to the general public that will be good for admittance into the Santee Lounge and south and east MidFirst Bank clubs will also be available.
OU students will receive free admission to the game by showing a current OU ID at the gate. Sooner Jr. Kids Club members will also receive complimentary admission, and parents of Sooner Jr. Kids Club members may purchase tickets for $8 (look for information via email).
All other seating is general admission, and normal game entry policies remain in place relative to permitted items, clear bag policy and usage of metal detectors. Campus parking lots will be open and free of charge for fans, and stadium gates will open to the public at noon.
Due to construction projects in the north portion of the stadium, sections 9 through 27 will be closed for the Spring Game.
A list of ancillary activities taking place April 13, as well as additional game day information, is below. More fun details surrounding the Spring Game will be shared as they're finalized.
The day's festivities begin at 7:30 a.m. with the annual OU Spring Sale in McCasland Field House with vendors including the OU equipment room and retail outlets selling a wide variety of apparel and Sooners' merchandise. The OU equipment room expects a very limited amount of Jordan Brand product to be available at this year's sale. A large assortment of other items, including framed photos from various OU athletics venues as well as Nike jerseys from multiple sports, will be available. The sale will close promptly at noon.
Please Note: Shopping in the OU equipment room space will again be timed this year. The first group of fans will have 10 minutes to shop. At the end of the 10 minutes those fans will be moved to the check-out zone and a new group of fans will be allowed into the space. This process will continue until the end of the sale or until the amount of product remaining no longer warrants the time limit. Fans are allowed to get back in line and shop as many times as they'd like, but shopping bags will not be allowed to re-enter. Fans will be able to pay with cash or credit card.
