Moldauer Claims Third Straight American Cup
NORMAN — University of Oklahoma senior gymnast Yul Moldauer claimed his third consecutive American Cup all-around title on Saturday in Greensboro, N.C.
Moldauer took home his third-straight title at the World Cup event with an 85.932 tally, edging fellow Team USA gymnast Sam Mikulak by .001, the slimmest margin in American Cup history.

The OU captain and reigning NCAA all-around champion placed first on vault and parallel bars with respective scores of 14.733 and 14.966. He claimed second on floor (14.500) and still rings (14.200) and placed in the top five on the other two events.
“Yul had a great meet and won by the closest margin in history,” said OU head coach Mark Williams. “Sam gave him an opportunity and Yul kept plugging away and made the end really exciting.”
Moldauer became just the third OU gymnast to claim three American Cup titles, joining Bart Conner (1976, ’81, ’82) and Jonathan Horton (2006-07, ’11). He also joins fellow Americans Kurt Thomas (1978-80) and Blaine Wilson (1997-99) as the only gymnasts to win three-straight American Cup titles
