Trio of Sooners Set for USA Volleyball Tryout
NORMAN — USA Volleyball has announced three University of Oklahoma student-athletes as participants for the U.S. Women’s National Team Open Tryouts, which will take place March 1-3 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Rising juniors Kylee McLaughlin and Sarah Sanders and rising sophomore Aysia Harty are among the 215 athletes set to try out for spots on the U.S. Women’s National Team and U.S. Collegiate National Teams.
The U.S. Collegiate National Team consists of three separate programs. Athletes selected for the CNT are eligible for three competition options, including international contests in Italy (June 30-July 14) and Japan (May 19-30) as well as domestically in Anaheim, Calif. (June 23-29).
This is the second year that McLaughlin and Sanders will participate in the tryout. Last year, Sanders was placed on the CNT-Detroit team, training and competing with the group last June.
A live stream of the tryouts will be available for free at TeamUSA.org/usa-volleyball.
